There is plenty of prime agricultural land here and yet it seems under utilised. There should be corn, potatoes and cows but for some reason much of it looks to be fallow, or it has a pathetically stunted covering of grass which they are cropping with scythes. No corn, no potatoes but sometimes there is sweetcorn. In greece they would be growing outdoor tomatoes, peppers, aubergines and mellons.

The hotel
It's not exactly 5* but it's okay. I've even got a lizard on the bathroom ceiling at no extra charge.
Cycling in the rain.
It was raining this morning in Shkoder so I bought an umbrella and, you guessed it, within 10 mins the rain had stopped.
Coffee
50 lek (30p) gets you a coffee of fiendish strength, a glass of water and most importantly, a seat in the shade to consult the map
